Businesses in the City of New Kensington must recycle! Pennsylvania’s Municipal Waste Planning Recycling and Waste Reduction Act (Act 101) and the City’s Solid Waste Code requires owners of commercial, municipal, and institutional properties to provide recycling services to tenants or occupants of their buildings. The Lighting of the Christmas Tree will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 5:30 pm at the Clock on 9th Street & 4th Avenue along with some great holiday music. Then continue the night with the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Dinner at 6 pm at No.1 Firehall on 4th Avenue. Free to anyone with an appetite! Plenty of food, fun and hospitality!
The Annual New Kensington Christmas Parade will be on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11 am. Be part of the excitement as our community comes together to kick off the Holiday Season! Enjoy marching bands, dazzling performances, and special guests. Any group interested in participating in our annual Christmas Parade should complete this form and register.
The 5th Annual New Kensington Holiday Storefront Decorating Contest - following the parade. All New Kensington downtown small business owners with a physical location are invited to participate. The winner will be announced following the Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 6th and will receive a Certificate of Recognition!
